If your car stalls in water, abandon it immediately: Many people drown while trying to save their cars.
If you are walking, don’t try to cross a flowing stream where the water is above knee level, since you could be swept away. Avoid unnecessary trips. If you must travel, wear loose layers and sturdy, comfortable shoes.
